URL Confusion
2-5-2015
Women in Straightjacket volume three is now in The Shop! Go and have a look. And then this: some of you may have wondered why, looking for Cocoproductions.com, you ended up on cocoproductions.com. Well here's the story behind that.
A little under ten years ago, Coco tentatively introduced some male bondage art in his work, in a mixed setting: husband, wife and daughter. Later on, this concept of a couple in bondage came back from time to time, and after that also some stand alone male bondage, for which there had been some demand for a long time. The reactions went from positive to lukewarm: it soon became obvious that this wasn't for everybody. At Cocoproductions, we came up with the idea to start a second, smaller site, exclusively dedicated to the subject, to see if that would find its way to an audience. So we came up with the 'Malenmix' url, and rented some cyberspace. And that was it. It never came to life; for years and years, this site remained dormant, empty; we just couldn't spare the time, it turned out.
Bishop and the airbrush

I have said it, and I will say it again: to me, Robert Bishop is the greatest bondage artist of all time! Although he wasn't my first source of inspiration ( I was already acquainted with artists like Willie, Stanton and Eneg), when I discovered his work, he instantly became the biggest. I was still in high school at the time, and, using a projector, I beamed a number of my favorite pieces on very large slates of paper, and traced them. And I mean LARGE, bigger than the A 1 format. So now I had these huge Bishop 'posters' which I used to adorn my attic room walls with. He really became a constant influence that way, and if you go to my very early work, in Nostalgia, you can perhaps detect at which point that influence became apparent in my work.

Helpless Help

We've just published a new Short Story, and Coco has some background info on it:
Years and years ago, I saw a movie with Beau Bridges (I think), as the hero. It was a kind of thriller: I really can't remember the story, or the title. What I DO remember though, is the end scene. It took place at a building site, very high up. Beau found himself battling the bad guy, and his love interest was also there, as a classic damsel in distress, wearing a straight jacket. ( I told you, this was years ago; in this day and age, Beau would probably be wearing the jacket, watching his girl fight of five construction workers all on her own, while making demeaning remarks about the male gender as a whole and... well, that's a rant for another day).
