Plain Biology

If you are only a bit familiar with my work, you will know of my fondness for strong, athletic legs on a woman. I love the sight of bulging calves, of sweeping thighs. Now, as I mentioned before, Bishop wasn't very big on this. His women tended to be more slender than mine, more normal if you will.


No problem, there are more than enough other aspects of his work to love! But from time to time, he would make a drawing that came close these specific preferences of mine, and of course I would like those all the more.That is the case also in this drawing. In this one he has so beautifully accentuated the roundness of the calves, thighs and buttocks, all even enhanced by the foreshortening of the figure. Add to that the sense of gravity expressed by the flattened breasts, and the strictness of the hogtie, and it is easy to see, I think, why this is one of my all time favorites!
