Celebrating Bishop 17

This time, it is not really the quality of the drawing that's what made me choose it: it's the subject. This cartoon features the dominant male (which is by the way also the subject of our newest anthology series: Male dominance, part one now in the shop!(red.))


Nowadays, in bondage art, this seems a common figure, but in fact, Bishop very much introduced him. In the pre-Bishop era, bondage art was mostly taking place in an all female world, with the exception of the numerous submissive males in the art of Stanton. In the work of for instance John Willie, Jim and Stanton, men, especially dominant men are almost totally absent. This being said, even Bishop himself started out that way in his early career, drawing mainly dominant women, and submissive men and women. Only later on, with the introduction of Gorilla as a new employee in the service of Madam, things started to change, and were we presented with situations that seemed so much more logical (at least to my mind :)).
