Some nostalgia

Hello everyone!
Over the course of the years, I have been a member of a lot of notorious websites like Hogtied, Device Bondage, Infernal restraints and, perhaps the most infamous of all: Insex. And I think it's fair to say that nowadays there are almost no taboo's left.
Sure, you want to stay away from anything below a certain age, and from animals (at least I do) and from anything that's not consensual, but apart from that, anything goes, one would say.
Lately however, I have been asking myself: doesn't that make it harder in any sense to be aroused, or to make something exciting? If so, I must confess to be part of the problem, because I don't like to hold back in my art in any way, and I certainly don't want us to return to getting excited by the exposure of an ankle, but still...

I have a large collection of bondage magazines (for artistic reasons, of course ;)).The oldest ones were published in the very early seventies I think. Now some of them consisted of even older work from the likes of Stanton and Willie, that was being published anew in those days. But the largest company active in that time was House of Milan, which published a whole series of titles. Centurion was much smaller, and Harmony Communications had not surfaced yet.
Now, to be fair, the magazines from HOM were pretty gritty most of the time. Lots of breast ties, crotch ropes, gags and vibrators. And very stringent poses! Wide spread suspensions, a whole array of hogties, ball ties etc., often very imaginative too. Also, different from the world of Klaw and Willie, men played a profound menacing role in these magazines. The models were being manhandled, held down or hoisted up unceremoniously. There was a lot of spanking, hair pulling and breast grabbing.
But where they stop short was with regard to the love mound. They have had to touch it, because there always were tons of tight crotch ropes. But you never saw them being applied. You would never see one of these bullies grab a model between her legs, oddly enough.
Now, apart from the photo series and the stories, also in there you would find some advertisement, mainly to promote HOM photo sets and 8 mm films. These adds consisted of a series of very small pictures, twenty to twenty five on a page. And it was among these that, in my mid-teens I discovered one that hit me like a ton of bricks.
It was this one:

grab-1

Now, it was not only the fact that his hand rested on her naked crotch. It was also that spread eagle, a pose that puts a woman in a position of arguably the highest vulnerability possible. But another factor was the way in which he touches her. It is almost casual, in a position of total control. It is the utmost humiliation, amplified by the way he looks straight at her, taunting, totally at ease.

grab-2

Small as it was, it affected me more than the entire rest of the magazine. From then on, this became a more and more regular feature in those publications, and nowadays, well, I wouldn't say nobody gives it a second thought all together, but it surely doesn't have that naked ankle feel anymore.

But then again: maybe I'm just getting old.
