New in the shop: Soirée Part Two! Thirty pages in full color, about the adventures of Chris and Althea as fresh members of the local bondage society!

On a different topic now: A word from Coco:

calderaii There are two characters, or rather, there is one character and a group of characters, with whom I wish I had done more over the years. In fact I'm hoping to breath new life into them in the near future, but it might take some time. Here, I want to talk a bit about the sole character: Dominique Caldera. She was meant to be my own Fanni Hall, so to speak. Starting out as a police detective, and turning into a P.I. later on.  I had high hopes for her, but in the end, her role in my work has remained quite modest.  Perhaps because the detective genre is quite difficult to do well. ( I'm therefor delighted about my cooperation with Jason McMasters, who obviously feels right at home in that field! And I think Juno Hawke and Caldera could probably have a mighty good time together, over a few beers).

Now, granted, Caldera did have her own album, First Step.Caldera cover ed,
I had to use its ISBN number to find out when it was published; it turned out to be in 1992.
But after that, she only appeared one more time, decades later, in a short, six page comic, as a private investigator and quite a reluctant slave to a shady character named Ulrich.Caldera crawl edAnd that's it! All there is to Dominique Caldera. Or wait, not quite.... Way back in the stone age before First Step, I made the first nineteen pages of an album that would never make it to the finish, in which her character was introduced for the very first time. A kind of a primordial Caldera, back in the late eighties.Caldera Origin edNow, I do think these pages may have showed up on the old site, but they have never been published in English before, or anywhere else for that matter. So that's what we are going to do here at CBAP over the next few weeks: after twenty five years a first full look at Caldera's baby steps!
