Stocks in a Box

Hello everyone,

I'd like to tell you something about a contraption I came accross at the web a few days ago, which I found fascinating. First of all, if you are familiar with my work even slightly, you'll know that one of my (many) favorite subjects is the 'equalizer' aspect of certain stockades or other contraptions. The fascination lies in he fact that whoever you put into them, young, old, strong weak, small, large: it doesn't matter: they all end up in the exact same position. Although this would suggest an interest in the objectification of the models, I would not embrace that completely: part of the fun is that the separate individual models recognize the denigration of the uniformity, but then again, perhaps lovers of objectification would make the same claim? I don't know; I'm no expert in that field.

But anyway, here are a few examples of what I mean. The frog shelf has been mentioned ad nausea, I guess, and I want to take this opportunity to say one last farewell to the man who brought my work to life, before his untimely and lamented demise: John of the House of Gord Site. RIP

But there are other examples, like the Turtle Table.

Based on something I saw many many years ago on the infamous site named Insex (ran by the even MORE infamous 'PD') Very inspirational, and well, when I say based on, I mainly mean that I turned it into a steady piece of furniture, nothing more.
But again, everybody gets in that same piece of furniture, and looks exactly the same. No turning upside down or what have you.

Anyway, the contraption I wanted to talk about was the 'Stocks in a Box' idea, by Lew Rubens (a household name in the bondage scene for decades, of course).

Yes, it is very simple as far as the position goes. The model is standing bent over, ankles and wrists secured. But go and watch the ingenious design of the thing over here at You tube! Than you will be taken by the elegancy of its design! For instance: there are no locks! It is all just wood (and glue I guess, but that's not recognizable), and.... OK, it has my favorite equalizing potential. Look at an intstructional video of the big man himself overhere:

AND by the way: a very happy X-mass to everybody!

Amen to that!
