Guessing for favorites

Sometimes a drawing ends up different than I had intended. With the newest piece, just uploaded, I intended to make a second fake cover named Insignifficant, in the imaginary Erotic novel series. This kind of revisiting a certain subject, or the re-use of a format, gives the work a more realistic feel, I always find. But when the drawing was finished, I hesitated. I think that this piece might win when compared to Insignificance 1, considering the action level. But... it lacked the detail of the first one. And that would be emphasized if I went for the same format, a cover, I felt. It would make for an obvious comparison, and I thought the lack of detail would outweigh the level of action. In other words, I wouldn't be serving that piece well. So I decided to make it a single shot, that maybe, some of you might consider to be an illustration from the inside of the book.


On the other hand, you have to keep in mind that it is very hard to for see what your followers may like. Of course, on the site, it is possible to have insight in all kinds of statistics, and from time to time, I have a look at what went down well, and what not so good. Not that that will have a huge impact on what I'm going to do in future; I think an artists best work is made as he has fun and fulfillment in what he produces. But I can and will take it into consideration, at least. And what, did I discover, was one of my most popular drawings ever? One I made over thirty years ago!
