Celebrating Bishop 2

CP11-28-2015
Hello CBAP people! There is a new story in New, or rather the first chapter of a longer story, with more chapters to come in the coming months. It will be a story about our friends from the Amazon Army, and in this first episode, Dagger encounters a quite formidable adversary.
Now, in the category Celebrating Bishop, we turn to Coco again.

The first thing I love about this drawing, is that it is about an ordinary woman in a totally believable predicament. And he really nailed it here! No distracting elements that would take away from that subject: no garterbelt, no extreme high heels. Things that you see all to often, and that make for quite ambivalent images.
Also, I like the way he suggests the different textures. For this he often used a kind of sheets (I'm not familiar with the English name for them), each of them with a different pattern. You would have to lay them over the drawing, and then with a scalpel trace the line of the area you wanted to be rendered. After that you removed the rest of the sheet (they were mildly klinging), and you were ready. In this piece he used three: one for the turtle neck, one for the blindfold and the shadows on the skirt, and one for the scarf around her waste.
The hiked up skirt is of course a returning feature in so much of all our work, but here I think he did it exceptionally well, with the strong inking and those beautiful folds.
There's only one thing that bugs me when I look at this drawing: I am pretty sure that it was part of a series, made to go with a story. I remember seeing two other ones, presumably in an issue of Hogtie in the early seventies. One showed her with her hands over head. The skirt and panties were gone and she was being paddled. From the third one I have only a vague memory; I think it showed her from the front, with the feather positioned in such a way that it covered her crotch. I have never been able to find those back. Does this ring a bell with anyone?
Anyway, untill next time, at the feet of the master! (Him of course, not me :))
