Celebrating Bishop 5
01-25-2016
Hello everyone! There are updates in Tickle and New, and we want to take this opportunity to remind you again of one of our newest anthologies. Mature Women in Bondage 3 is out now; go have a look! And now here is another tribute from Coco to who many of us consider the all time greatest of them all: Bishop!
Hello again! This is a drawing from the first album I ever set eyes on from Bishop. Actually, it is his second book, but I only found the first one much later. He made three of them in total, apart from a host of other material, of course. This drawing has been one of my favorites from day one, for a special reason.

One of the first things that strikes us here is of course the beautiful lighting of the piece. The suggestion of a round window somewhere high and out of sight, by the projection on the floor, and the way the light plays with the bondage gear, giving the impression of different textures, the shadowing: it's all masterfully done. And then the bondage itself: the clever looping of the belt around the upper arms, the tight single glove, and the way the whole thing is turned into a sitting hogtie: wonderful!
Also, there is the devious detail of the press fasteners on the panties, for swift removal. But all of that is not why this page made such an impact on me when I first saw it.
Bishop was never overly concerned with muscularity. He was obviously well schooled in anatomy, from a certain time on anyway. But his women are mostly slender, or at most very feminine, with slender arms, big boobs and long legs.I myself am more attracted to more athletic, muscular, even stocky models; always have been. And so, what immediately jumped out when I saw this page for the first time, some forty years ago, were those calves! I LOVE them! The way he uses the
lighting to give them their massive form: fantastic! Together with those bulging thighs, they give this model the legs of a seasoned ballet dancer, an effect made even stronger by the use of the stockings. Incredible drawing.
