Memory lane
07-25-2016
Hello everyone! Lately, I've been rummaging through my archives. Over the last fifteen years, I have accumulated archives on my computer, of course, but in this case, these were physical archives, from many years ago. I used to rip out pages, and cut out pictures, from newspapers, sports magazines, TV guides: everything I thought might one day come in useful as an inspiration.
It is a totally unorganized mess, stowed away in about thirty folders, which I had not opened for about ten years, so this became somewhat of a trip down memory lane. And this trip offered some surprises. First of all, in the 'lost and found' department, I found an old black and white drawing that wasn't represented on the site. It is a hogtie scene, and it can be found in New, for the moment.
But then, I came across a bigger surprise. I have been making bondage art for as long as I can remember. First just to entertain myself (and boy, was that entertaining at the age of eleven or twelve...) But in the late seventies, I decided to take a chance, and send some of my stuff in to the two major companies of the time: House of Milan and Harmony Communications. I got a nice letter back from Barbara Behr, who encouraged me to keep at it, and with the remark that much of my pencils were to light to reproduce in a magazine. But Harmony offered me a job as an artistic contributor right away! And what did I find in this old, stuffy archive? My first drawings that were published professionally, ever! Now, I didn't have the originals anymore, so I took out the pages from the magazines, and I have now pulled out those drawings from there. These very early penciled pieces, despite being over 35 years old, are new to the site. I will be putting them up in Nostalgia; you can find the first three over there right now. I conclude with the very first picture, published in Bondage life, in 1978. Please take
