Celebrating Bishop 12
01-08-2016 Welcome to CBAP! This time there are updates in New, in Nostalgia (with some more of Coco's hitherto not uploaded very first professional works), and the Luna page.
The Bishop page I want to celebrate today, is a rare piece. I have Bishop's large anthology which combines his first three albums, as well as those first albums separately. I also have a few more magazines solely devoted to him, and all of the Fanny Hall books, and the few books he made in a smaller format, and a few pocket books by F.E. Campbell which he illustrated.
And for the on line work, like many of you I guess, I make use of the fabulous Hunter Rose archive. Yet, as far as I can tell, this drawing doesn't show up anywhere in any of these sources. It is a drawing especially made to illustrate a stand alone short story, which was published in a Hogtied magazine, my guess is somewhere in the seventies.
Also, I vaguely seem to remember that he has done a few more of these, so whenever I can spare the time, I intend to go through my entire collection of old magazines, doing some art historic digging. Anyway, I thought it would be nice to share this seldom seen piece with you all. Until next time,
Coco
