Average vs. kinky
02-26-2015
My latest drawing in New is meant, a little bit, as a homage to Bishop; I have already told you, how much I have always been a fan of the way he used normal, everyday women in his drawings. Not all of the time of course: there was he Madam, and Fanni Hall in her Mrs. Peel outfit, but in his single shots, a lot of them showed average soccer moms. What hit me later was that the juxtaposition of these women with the kinky paraphernalia made the image even stronger: I think the use of a ball gag on a professional bondage model doesn't make the same impact as on an unsuspecting victim, overtaken in her own house. And Bishop was the first to make me aware of that.

BDSM in main stream movies
2-13-2015
I have always maintained that there is a larger interest in Bondage than it's niche culture would suggest. In my college years, I worked in a movie theater, and whenever a bondage scene occurred in a main stream movie, you were certain to experience a change in atmosphere in the public. There would be snickering, laughing, sometimes cheering. It would effect large parts of the audience, every time again.
An even stronger argument may be the big theater movies that actually had BDSM as their subject, and there have been a few over the years: L'Histoire d'O (and its rather weaker part two, from 1984), Nine and a half weeks, and more recently, the Secretary and of course Fifty shades of Grey. These were all successful with the general public.
URL Confusion

Women in Straightjacket volume three is now in The Shop! Go and have a look. And then this: some of you may have wondered why, looking for Cocoproductions.com, you ended up on cocoproductions.com. Well here's the story behind that.
A little under ten years ago, Coco tentatively introduced some male bondage art in his work, in a mixed setting: husband, wife and daughter. Later on, this concept of a couple in bondage came back from time to time, and after that also some stand alone male bondage, for which there had been some demand for a long time. The reactions went from positive to lukewarm: it soon became obvious that this wasn't for everybody. At Cocoproductions, we came up with the idea to start a second, smaller site, exclusively dedicated to the subject, to see if that would find its way to an audience. So we came up with the 'Malenmix' url, and rented some cyberspace. And that was it. It never came to life; for years and years, this site remained dormant, empty; we just couldn't spare the time, it turned out.
